African-style Indian Elephants?

So exciting… learned block printing this past weekend from Megan Griffiths.  It’s a lot of fun, and the results are just remarkable.  I have been playing all week with printing on fabric.  Some results have been fantastic.  It just depends on what I use.  I’ve tried alcohol ink (bleeds), lumiere paint (ok, but gets globby), fabric paint (too thin, just doesn’t saturate the fabric well enough, and when it does it bleeds badly), acrylic paint (GOOD!) and Colorbox Pigment Ink (BEST!).

BTW. Indian elephants are the ones that get all dressed up and march in parades.  If you’re looking for something interesting to do this year, the annual Festival/Parade is in March. They are easier to train/domesticate than African elephants.  But the block-print style reminds me of African fabrics and prints.
