Fiber Quiltie

Today’s kick-start piece is a trade.  The idea was to use fibers in a quiltie (6″ mini-quilt).  I started a couple weeks ago with a colorful Maple leaf, painted it with acrylic medium and hung it to dry.  This helps keep the leaf pliable for sewing.  I did a mini strip quilt, couched various fibers (fancy yarns) and then added the leaf.  After, I quilted the top and stitched a “rattail” style binding to finish the edges.
